Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with? +

I provide individual therapy for adults and adolescents ages 16 and older.

Where are appointments offered? +

I see clients in person at two locations:

Mondays: 4200 South Hulen Street, Suite 414, Fort Worth, Texas 76109

Tuesdays through Thursdays: 6320 Southwest Boulevard, Suite 207, Benbrook, Texas 76109

I also provide telehealth appointments for clients located anywhere in Texas.

How do I schedule an appointment? +

You may call me at 817-374-4401 or email me at jenni@jennisamuel.com.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation if you would like to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, ask questions, or determine whether we might be a good fit.

What happens during the first appointment? +

We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, and what you would like help changing.

I’ll ask some questions about your current concerns and relevant history. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions about therapy and how I work.

You do not need to prepare anything or know exactly where to begin.

How long are appointments? +

Standard therapy appointments are approximately 50 minutes. Longer sessions may be available when clinically appropriate and arranged in advance.

How often will we meet? +

Most clients begin with weekly appointments so we can build momentum and get a clear understanding of what is happening. Depending on your needs and progress, we may eventually meet less frequently. We can discuss what makes the most sense for you.

What is your fee? +

My fee is $150 for a standard individual therapy session.

Do you accept insurance? +

I am an approved provider for Lyra, an employer-provided mental health benefit.

I do not otherwise participate directly with insurance plans. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Coverage varies, so I recommend contacting your insurance company to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

What concerns do you treat? +

I commonly work with clients experiencing:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Eating disorders and disordered eating
  • Body-image concerns
  • Depression
  • Life transitions
  • Academic and career pressures
  • ADHD and executive-functioning challenges
  • Relationship and family stress
  • Caregiving stress
  • Midlife and aging-related changes
  • Perimenopause and menopause
  • Trauma and unresolved experiences

If you are unsure whether your concern falls within my area of practice, you are welcome to contact me and ask.

What therapeutic approaches do you use? +

My approach is individualized and may include traditional talk therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

We will discuss which approaches may be appropriate for you. You will not be expected to participate in EMDR, ART, or any other method without understanding and agreeing to it first.

Is therapy confidential? +

Yes. Your privacy is protected by professional ethical standards and Texas law.

There are limited legal exceptions, including certain circumstances involving imminent danger, suspected abuse or neglect, or a court order. We will review confidentiality and its limits before beginning therapy.

How long will I be in therapy? +

There is no single timeline that is right for everyone.

Some people seek short-term help with a specific concern. Others benefit from longer-term work involving longstanding patterns or more complex concerns.

We will discuss your goals and periodically review whether therapy continues to feel useful and relevant.

What if I’m not sure I need therapy? +

You do not need to be certain before contacting me.

A brief consultation can help you talk through what is happening and decide whether scheduling an appointment makes sense.
