● What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit is an opportunity to get to know each other and set the stage for your work together. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, your history, and your goals. This session also gives you a chance to ask questions about how I work. Most first sessions last about 50 minutes.
● How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule by contacting me directly through the website form, emailing me at jenni@jennisamuel.com, or calling me directly at 817-374-4401. I’ll follow up to confirm your first appointment and answer any initial questions you have.
● Do you accept insurance?
I am an approved provider for Lyra, an employer provided benefit. Otherwise, I do not accept insurance. I can provide a Superbill which a client may submit to their insurance for an eligible reimbursement.
● How long are therapy sessions?
Standard sessions are typically 50 minutes. We can discuss longer sessions if needed and agreed upon ahead of time.
● What issues do you treat?
I work with adults and adolescents (16+) on concerns such as:
- Anxiety and chronic stress
- Depression and low mood
- ADHD and attention challenges
- Eating Disorders
- Life transitions and identity changes
- Aging-related concerns (including perimenopause/menopause)
- Emotional regulation and self-understanding
Therapy often focuses on how these areas intersect and influence daily life.
● What treatment approaches do you use?
My work draws from evidence-based and evidence-informed methods, including:
- Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
These approaches are integrated based on your needs and goals.
● Do you provide teletherapy (online sessions)?
Yes — I offer teletherapy.
● Will what I share be confidential?
Yes. Therapy is confidential and governed by professional ethical standards and Texas law. The only exceptions involve safety concerns (such as imminent harm to self or others) or where the law otherwise requires reporting. We can discuss confidentiality in detail at your first visit.
● Can I bring someone with me to the first session?
Yes — you may bring a support person if you feel it would be helpful. If someone other than you will participate regularly in therapy (e.g., co-parent or partner), we can discuss how that fits into the treatment plan.
● How long does therapy last?
Every client is different. Some individuals benefit from shorter-term work focused on specific concerns; others choose longer-term therapy for deeper growth and support. We discuss goals and revisit progress regularly to make sure therapy stays relevant to you.
● What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me yet?
That’s completely normal. If you have questions about therapy before scheduling, I’m happy to talk with you briefly so you can make an informed decision. Just reach out via the contact form or phone.
